NFL Most VALUABLE Player?

Jack C asked:

If we are talking about Most VALUABLE Player, then it should be Devin Hester. Hester has won three of Chicago’s seven wins and probably won a few more with his presence there. He won the Saints game with a TD catch and return, he won the Broncos game with two returns, and he won the Kansas City game with a return. Also, in the Bears home loss against Minnesota in overtime, the ONLY reason why the Bears stayed in that game was because of Hester’s beautiful catch and return for a TD. If you take him off the Bears, the Bears would be the team with the first pick in the draft. Who is your Most VALUABLE Player?

49ers Tickets - 49ers Stadium

Bishara asked:

In 1946, after 5 years to petition the NFL Morabito Elegant executive of haulage spent $25.000 dollars and San Francisco 49ers was called a founder member of the conference of the football of All-America. The 49ers played their first game on August 31 against the rockets of Chicago, because roughly 40.000 ventilators observed the complaint 49ers a victory 34-14 at the stage of Kezar. In 1957, Christopher mayor of San Francisco showed to giants of New York the owner Horace Stoneham around the point of candlestick, the projected site…
What the mayor knew and, probably, Stoneham not was that although the point of candlestick can be beautiful one morning of summer, it is usually one of the most cold places, windiest and mistiest in country one harms of summer. Of fog of bearings of the parts of surplus in San Francisco on the majority of evenings of summer and park of candlestick were created in one of these parts. Although the park of candlestick was built for the giants, Beatles played their last concert always there August 29, 1966, and the NFL 49ers gained so many superb basins since they moved there into 1971 than the sign in the fate of parking indicated, “houses of the superb champions of basin,” with almost any mention of the primary education team of baseball. In 1995, they retire their park of the stage 3Com. With this whole name, changing is it does not have affected their execution of the whole.

In 2004, on the 10th birthday of their fifth superb championship of basin the 49ers were tilting and crushing no matter whom who obtained in their manner (bam)! Then all it suddenly out of blue as to rinse out-season of the role left a team which resembled to a team of expansion as the ventilators 49ers employed with the teams of opposition turned against the owner John York, who ventilates blamed to leave once known under the name of tilting team with a terrible team in the execution.

From the very start of the season it was obvious how bad the 49ers were while they dropped their first three plays. While the season progressed the 49ers started to start starting from the scratch while they gave to Coach Dennis Erickson initialization and rented Mike Nolan the son of **** Nolan which carried out the 49ers 1968-1975, taking them until the play of championship of NFC twice.

This year they finish with the worst disc in the NFL. Since they finished with the worst disc, they were given the courtesy to the outline initially. The team is eager in the future to go up a strong base where they would choose QB Alex Smith out of Utah. With Smith carrying out the manner, the 49ers now have one of the youngest teams in the NFL. They must obtain their substance together quickly like OL Thomas Herrion, a team-member of university of Smith at Utah which tested for a position on the team after the play in NFL Europe, suddenly dead of a heart attack according to a play of preseason against Denver Broncos. Where this team is directed, we will see as they continue the combat for their dignity.

Dexter Clay And The Katy Nation

Todd A. Smith asked:

What defines a successful man? Is it financial status and prestige? On the other hand, is it using your God-given talents to make a difference in the lives of others? For former professional football player and actor Dexter Clay, it is leaving the world a better place than he found it.

Many people dream of one day having their names in the bright lights, but few realize those dreams. Clay is one of the few individuals who experienced the pros and cons of both Hollywood and professional sports, before dedicating his life to inspiring others by writing motivational books such as KatyNation.

“We often look toward those whom we have elevated to idol status for support, like professional athletes. In reality, the real power of a community is the community itself,” Clay explains.

While playing softball, Clay received an invitation to attend the Houston Sports Writers luncheon by his coach Joe Spiegel. At the luncheon, Clay met Houston Oilers wide receiver coach King Hill who offered him a personal tryout. Impressed by Clay’s athletic ability, the Oilers offered him a two-year contract.

Unfortunately, one week before training camp Clay fractured his left index finger and had to compete for a roster spot at a clear disadvantage. Oilers coach Bum Phillips placed him on waivers and the New York Jets picked him up.

“The next year I found myself two weeks before training camp with the New York Jets. I fell through a moon roof, breaking my wrist and big toe and bruising two ribs. The Sunday before the Denver (Broncos) game, the Turk came knocking on my door.”

Clay finished his professional career playing for the San Antonio Gunslingers of the USFL.

He next found himself in Hollywood living out of a pickup truck, while working at a Beverly Hills restaurant. Nine days after walking away from the restaurant job, he ended up on the set of “Star Trek the Next Generation,” and received his first acting job.

Clay’s meteoric rise from homeless to Hollywood is perhaps what motivated him to become active in the homeless community.

“While in Los Angeles, I was the Executive Director of the National Homeless Plan. There are over 300,000 homeless men, women, and children in and around the Los Angeles area. We once rallied to bring attention to our cause. Our only resistance was the city riot police,” Clay explains.

The former actor and athlete recently left Los Angeles, and has been back in Houston for over a year working on the inspirational story of the Katy High School football program in his new book KatyNation. Katy, Tex. is a small community west of Houston.

Clay believes readers will see themselves in his latest book.

“They will see the development and the history of a small town that has found a way to become a community of champions. KatyNation is the history of a once-small community, more than it is a look back at America,” the author says.

Dexter Clay says he focused on the Katy football program because it gives a blueprint to other programs on how to be successful. He believes it gives others common denominators that they can follow to be successful on the football field, as well as in life.

Anticipation for Clay’s book has been so great that it has received interests from film companies hoping to take the story to the big screen. Clay’s management team is now reviewing contracts.

“To have a movie production deal on the table, even before the book is released, is quite frankly unheard of. This is the opportunity that I find myself blessed with,” says Clay.

And, unlike many who find themselves the recipient of countless blessings, Dexter Clay is determined to pass those blessings on to others. He is adamant about using his gifts to better the lives of others, especially those who are less fortunate.

Clay uses the power of words to inspire those around him, because he knows how it feels to succeed against all odds, and his mission in life is to see all succeed despite the obstacles.

Top 10 Most Disappointing Nfl Teams in 2008 Season

Seth Taylor asked:

The year 2008 in the NFL was a year of big surprises and disappointments. We saw history made, major fall offs and plenty of coaches fired. Here are the most disappointing teams in 2008.

10. Cleveland Browns

The Clevland Browns finished the season at 10-6 last year. There were plenty of high hopes in Cleveland. The dogs were starting to think that things were looking up. Well now, not so much. They finished the season at 4-12, fired their head coach and hired another head coach, Eric Mangini, that just got fired from the Jets.

9. Washington Redskins

The expectations for the Redskins were not very high this year. They just hired a new unproven head coach in Jim Zorn bringing in a new offense with the verdict still out on their quarterback Jason Campbell. Most people were expecting them to finish where they did, 8-8 at the bottom of the toughest division in the NFL, the NFC East.

So why is this team on this list. They started the season at 6-2 with some tough road wins against Philly and Dallas. Then they went on to lose 6 of their last eight games. Not good. Especially in Washington.

8. Green Bay Packers

The good news is that the Brett Favre saga is finally over. The bad news is that so were the Packers winning ways this season. Aaron Rogers appeared to have done his part with a 93.8 QB rating. But what about the intangibles?

Does Aaron Rogers have the leadership skills and fire that Brett possessed during his time at Green Bay to lead this team? Only time will tell in say about 16 more years.

7. Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks have been a given to make the playoffs with 5 consecutive playoff appearances. Now they finished the season at 4-12 as one of the worst teams in football. What a disappointing way for Mike Holmgren to finish his NFL coaching career. Now they have a new head coach in which they have to adjust to hopefully right the ship.

6. Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos started the season hot at 3-1 with one of the best offenses in the league. They lost 3 straight down the stretch putting them out of position to make the playoffs finishing the season at 8-8. As a result of their poor season the Broncos fired the face of the franchise, Mike Shanahan after 14 seasons and 2 Super Bowls. Talk about a disappointing season.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucaneers start the season at 9-3 and were already penciled in for a playoff position. That is until they lose the next four games straight with the last 2 games at home. The last game they lost was against the Oakland Raiders, of all teams, who finished the season at 5-11. Now it looks like Jon Gruden is on the hot seat - again.

4. Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville was considered one of the top 5 teams in the league coming into the 2008 season. They were ranked 5 in the ESPN power rankings. They finished with an 11-5 record last year and made it to the second round of the playoffs.

This year they decided to do a complete turnaround and finished with a 5-11 record. Now they have to deal with poor free agent signings from the past, salary cap issues, and have decided to start building through the NFL draft.

3. New York Jets

There was new life in New York and I am not talking about for the New York Giants. I am talking about the other New York, the Jets. They made a huge splash signing the future hall of fame quarterback Brett Favre. The Jets got off to a hot start at 8-3.

Talk of an all New York Super Bowl began with the Jets versus the Giants. The New York Brets were alive and kicking. But the season was not over and the Jets lost 4 of their next 5 games with Brett Favre throwing 9 interceptions over this period. Oh, and then they fired their head coach!

2. Detroit Lions

Detroit finished the season with a perfect season. Sort of like the Dolphins 72 season in reverse, 0-16. They went down in the history books as the only team every to go 0-16. Sure, no one expected much from this team but to go all year and not win 1 game. One? Man. It sure ***** to be a Lions fan these days.

1. Dallas Cowboys

And then there was one. The one and only. America’s team! The Dallas Cowboys were many people’s preseason favorite to win the Super Bowl. This team finished the 2007 season with a record of 13-3 with one of the losses being a meaningless game on the last game of the season. Their team is stacked with superstars on both sides of the ball.

Yeah, but when you have a bunch of head cases on your team like T.O. and Pacman Jones you are sure to have some problems. I used to always defend Terrell Owens and try to give him the benefit of the doubt. But if you destroy the locker room chemistry at every team that you go to then maybe you have some issues that you need to address. The problems with Terrell Owens complaining about not getting the ball and the Pacman Jones distractions were just too much for this team.

Not to mention Wade Phillips is probably not the right coach for a place like Dallas. Someone a little more hard-nosed, similar to Parcells or Cowher, is needed in big D. To go from the Super Bowl favorite to not even making the playoffs. And not only did they not make the playoffs, they got destroyed by Philadelphia in the last game of the season (44-6) when they had everything to play for. Now that is what I call a disappointing season.

Will the Colts or Bears make it back to the playoffs?

_ asked:

Recent history shows that many Super Bowl teams don’t tend to make it back to the playoffs the following year. Since 1999, 10 defending conference champions (and therefore Super Bowl teams) have missed the playoffs. They were the 99 Broncos and Falcons, 01 Giants, 02 Patriots and Rams, 03 Buccaneers and Raiders, 04 Panthers, 05 Eagles, and 06 Steelers. Among the other Super Bowl teams, the 2000 Rams, 2001 Ravens, 2005 Patriots, and 2006 Seahawks suffered injuries to major players and weren’t the same as a result. The 2000 Titans were eliminated in their first playoff game. The only team to repeat was the 2004 Patriots.

The odds are against the Colts and Bears this season, if you look at recent history. The Colts and Bears defenses looked pretty weak for a large part of last season and the Bears starting QB looked pretty bad at times as well.

Do either of these teams even make it back to the playoffs this season?

Who’s the bigger choke.Jets, Cowboys, or Broncos?

PlayboyPerry509 asked:

I would add the Pats but then again they did win when they needed too and they are 11-5..

But come on, the Cowboys are just a complete joke. 44-6 loss in the biggest game of the season? I’m sure all the bandwagoners are finding a Titans avatar right now.

The Jets..well…that’s what you get for signing this years Madden Cursed player. Good job Favre, way to choke!

and do i even need to bring up the shitty Broncos? They were 7-4 and the Chargers were 4-8 going into December…suddenly they fall apart and get their @sses handed to them 52-21, getting knocked out of playoff contention.

So, who’s the bigger choke outta the 3..Jets, Cowboys, or Broncos?
